Take Notice

Boom! What a way to wakeup in moring! The thunder roared. Yes, It startled me but I really love being in bed, hearing the thunder and rain. It makes me want to cover my head with my warm blanket and go back to sleep, like soothing music from heaven! But then, it moved on over and faded in the distance. Over as quickly as it came. I got up to face another day!

You know, the older I get, being alone, the more I mavel of the things that occur around me. It’s knowing they have always been there but I just didn’t notice and see how nique they really are!

I was watching a squirrel the other day. It climbed down the tree, jumped onto the fence, ran over to a particular point, knowing exactly where to stop, jumping to the ground, running to another exact spot, dug a little hole and pulled out a pecan almost to big for its mouth. Then returned by the same route it came, finding its nest. That squirrel buried that pecan in the fall and knew exactly where it was located and this was not the only time this happened, only at different locations!

What have I been missing all my life, where has my attention been? As I look back, I see a life raced through, trying to accomplish this and that and as the proverbial comment goes, “never stopped to smell the roses!” I’m out of that race now and really don’t want to ever go back!

There are so many wonders with all the birds, animals and all the beautiful terrain to marvel at! Oh yes, I even marvel at people, some in great ways, some with a little bewilderment, but knowing all this, everything, was created by a Father in heaven who loves us so unconditionally, He gave us such a wonderful, marvelous and beautiful world for our enjoyment!! I would pray you don’t wait as long as I did to start recognizing and enjoying these wornderful gifts! Oh, and by the way, He gave us a gift more wonderful than these, Jesus!

Just a thought, just saying!
